The Beds & Herts Goat Society
 

was founded in 1974

 with the object of fostering further knowledge of
goats and goatkeeping by means of lectures, exhibitions, demonstrations and
shows, with the express objective of furthering the welfare of goats.

The club have a marquee at the Herts Show (the last weekend in May) at Redbourn, where there is a display of goats, and where information about goats and goatkeeping can be obtained.

 
Monthly meetings

are held at Streatley Village Hall, LU3 3PP just off the A6 north of Luton,

on the first Monday of the month from September through to May, starting at 8.15 pm. 

As well as a variety of speakers and refreshments there is a chance to chat to other members and if time permits a forum after tea break for discussion of any problems, DEFRA or Animal Health legislation etc. that members can request either in advance or just before the start of the meeting

                                 VISITORS welcome at our meetings for £1.50. which includes tea/coffee & biscuits


New members are very welcome,

whether they are goatkeepers, prospective goatkeepers or just interested in Goats.  

The speakers at meetings cover not just goats but smallholding topics as well.   

The annual subscription is £7. per year, with a £1.50. joining fee.
